While growing up in the tropical countryside of Nassau, Bahamas, Jedda developed a passion for the natural world and art. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in physiology and biochemistry from Southampton University, England, but always retained that passion for the visual arts. When the opportunity arose, she indulged in several art classes at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and now works mainly in watercolors, producing bold, colorful paintings of tropical flora and fauna. Many of her subjects are discovered during excursions she and her husband take into the Everglades.
